ADEP (Adobe Digital Enterprise Platform) Designer 10.0
The new version of ADEP Designer (formerly LiveCycle Designer) provides a number of new features. The four I’m most excited about are:
The ability to add flash objects into my forms. This is a neat feature that will help enable more dynamic representation of information.
The new Style Sheet functionality is also a great addition to Designer. Fragments are brilliant for quickly re-using complete blocks of formatted objects, however styles allow you to quickly re-use formatting that had previously been manual and repetitive to set for each object.
Different Time and Date field objects. The previous Date/Time fields were not useful in my experience. I always had to create a date then a separate semi-hacked time field to meet the specific client requirements. The new objects are an improvement.
Finally, the ability to customise the toolbars. I’ve already shuffled the controls around to suit my most used preferences.
I remember about five years ago when I first used LiveCycle Designer it was challenging to produce useful XFA forms. This latest version seems to be changing that. Nice work Adobe…
